Energieversorgung Limburg masters risk management in an urban environment

Implementing a risk-based approach to drinking water supply is a challenging task for many water suppliers. For Energieversorgung Limburg GmbH (EVL), there is an additional special framework condition: drinking water is obtained from wells located close to the city along a river - partly with and partly without designated drinking water protection areas. What is regulated by clear zoning elsewhere must be considered under more complex framework conditions in these areas. This makes it all the more important to have a risk management system that provides orientation, makes connections visible and creates a reliable basis for decisions and communication with the authorities.

Zweckverband Wasser Abwasser Vogtland efficiently manages 59 catchment areas with RiskPlus

When the Drinking Water Catchment Areas Ordinance (TrinkwEGV) came into force, the Zweckverband Wasser Abwasser Vogtland was faced with a particular challenge: 59 drinking water catchment areas had to be assessed, documented and processed on time. Stadtwerke Memmingen brings clarity to the „unknown land“ catchment area with RiskPlus

When the Drinking Water Catchment Area Ordinance was published on 4 December 2023, it was a wake-up call for many water suppliers in Bavaria. For Thomas Junger, Head of the Water Systems Engineering Department at Stadtwerke Memmingen, this also marked the beginning of a new phase in the discussion of risk management in the water supply sector.

RiskPlus in use at Stadtwerke Clausthal-Zellerfeld

The new Drinking Water Catchment Areas Ordinance (TrinkwEGV) and the amended Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV) require water suppliers to implement systematic risk management - combined with high technical and organisational requirements. Stadtwerke Clausthal-Zellerfeld GmbH addressed the issue of implementation at an early stage and decided in favour of the RiskPlus software solution. In close cooperation with the TZW: DVGW Technology Centre for Water, they have already successfully implemented key steps.

Focus on TrinkwEGV: municipal utilities and municipalities of Hegau-Wasser e.V. rely on RiskPlus

For many years, the Hegau-Wasser e.V. association has been pursuing the goal of preserving the independence of municipal water suppliers and at the same time creating valuable synergies through cooperation. In addition to regular dialogue and joint further training, it quickly became clear that the new requirements of the Drinking Water Catchment Areas Ordinance (TrinkwEGV) should be tackled jointly.
