RiskPlus is now available as RiskPlus Core and RiskPlus Pro. Which version do I use?

If RiskPlus was subscribed to before April 2026, RiskPlus Pro is automatically used in your company.

RiskPlus Core covers risk management from the point of withdrawal to handover to the end consumer. RiskPlus Pro includes all functionalities of RiskPlus Core and additionally adds the risk management for the drinking water catchment area up to the point of withdrawal.

RiskPlus significantly streamlines the creation of a clear and thorough documentation. It achieves this by providing comprehensive pre-integrated data and an intuitive user interface that ensures risk assessments and mitigation strategies are completed accurately and swiftly. Experience shows that using RiskPlus can reduce the workload by up to 75% compared to traditional GIS and Excel workflows. Furthermore, RiskPlus allows you to generate documentation tailored to specific state requirements directly from your existing data.

RiskPlus is characterised by an exceptionally comprehensive geodata basis and an area-differentiated risk assessment within the drinking water catchment area. In addition, all risk management requirements of the TrinkwEGV are comprehensively implemented.

RiskPlus ensures that these requirements can be met with less effort than with conventional methods. These unique selling points ensure highly efficient and precise work with minimal manual effort.

RiskPlus was developed by Disy and TZW - both institutions have decades of experience in the field of reporting obligations and risk management in catchment areas. This in-depth expertise is continuously incorporated into further development, so that with RiskPlus you can rely on an established, tried-and-tested and future-proof solution.

All data and documents stored in RiskPlus are clearly organized, easy to trace, and can be flexibly expanded. As a result, new staff can be onboarded quickly, valuable knowledge is not lost, and the company remains independent of any single person in the long run. This sustainable way of securing knowledge greatly improves risk reduction and process security.

RiskPlus was developed to ensure fully legally compliant implementation of the reporting obligations under TrinkwEGV and TrinkwV. The methodology used complies with the generally recognised rules of technology, in particular DIN EN 15975-2 and DVGW W 1001 and W 1004.

The TrinkwEGV requires that the risk assessment is carried out by persons with specialised knowledge (§ 13). To make this step as easy as possible for you, RiskPlus provides a detailed catalogue of hazardous events and corresponding countermeasures based on years of research by TZW.

You can add hazardous events to this catalogue at any time in order to create the most accurate risk assessment possible based on your local knowledge and expertise.

As soon as the requirements of the respective countries with regard to the format and the data to be submitted with the documentation are clear, RiskPlus will offer corresponding export functionalities and create the documentation automatically as far as we are able.

RiskPlus already contains most of the required data, and in some cases, potentially all of it. RiskPlus includes a comprehensive list of land use types and hazard sources within the catchment area, based on the ATKIS Basic DLM. However, you can supplement this with your own land use data or hazard sources, such as contaminated sites. For this purpose, RiskPlus provides a functionality to upload shapefiles.

RiskPlus also contains Germany's water protection areas and protection zones, where publicly available, which can be used to define the catchment areas. This is also customizable, and custom geometries can be uploaded.

For the automated calculation of risk values, RiskPlus also provides data on the protective effect of the groundwater cover (for groundwater catchment areas) and slope/gradient (for surface water), applying these automatically during the calculation.

Furthermore, RiskPlus provides a detailed catalog of hazard events and measures that you can use for risk assessment and risk control.

RiskPlus offers the following export formats: Land uses and their assessments as a shapefile, tables as an Excel file, the complete data export as a geopackage and the final report as a PDF. The geopackage is compatible with all common desktop GIS solutions and fulfils the documentation requirements - including the LAWA table for describing a catchment area.

There are several ways to conduct the risk analysis:

A) Performing the analysis with internal staff:
If you are sufficiently familiar with your own catchment area, you will be able to carry out the analysis independently using RiskPlus. We support you with our free introductory training and offer email support. As an extension of this option, we also provide paid consulting services through TZW, which can be commissioned on an hourly basis as needed.
In addition to this option, we also offer fee-based consulting support from TZW, which can be commissioned on an hourly basis if required.

B) Performing the analysis via a contracted engineering firm:
The analysis can also be carried out by your engineering firm. In this case, the firm uses your license (the license holder is always the water utility).

Hosting and certifications
Riskplus is operated in a certified data centre at IONOS, which has several important certifications. These include the BSI C5 certificate, the BSI certification and the ISO 27001 certification. You can find a complete overview of IONOS' certificates here here.

In addition, a comprehensive internal information security management system (ISMS) is used.

Access rights and data encryption
User management/the IAM is carried out via Keycloak and is secured in accordance with BSI standards. Two-factor authentication is also possible, and we will be happy to activate this for you if required.

The application is only accessible via HTTPS, data is TLS-encrypted during transport (v1.3). The data is stored in a Postgres database and processed there and in the application. The data is unencrypted in the database and in the application; encryption takes place during transport.

Security standards and compliance
When developing RiskPlus, we are guided by the specifications of the BSI basic protection, in particular the modules APP.1.4, APP.3.1, APP.3.2, CON.8, CON.10 and SYS.1.6. Disy is also preparing for its own ISO 27001 certification in order to further strengthen its security measures.

One registration is required per water supply company or municipality. The email address can be a general email address (e.g. riskplus@wasserversorger.de) or a user-specific email address (e.g. max.mustermann@wasserversorger.de).

The registered e-mail address receives the welcome e-mail and is stored as the billing address. We recommend storing the user-specific e-mail address of the main user. You can invite any number of other users to collaborate in RiskPlus at any time.

The demo mode is limited to the arable and transport sectors for your catchment area. The scope is extended by purchasing the full version. If you are testing RiskPlus in demo mode, please select a catchment area in which these two land uses actually exist.

Operators, engineering offices and special-purpose associations can work for several operators from one account. However, in order to guarantee the data sovereignty of the operators at all times, each operator must also have an account with RiskPlus. This account can easily be linked to the accounts of service providers.

Yes, the address can be changed. Please send us a request to contact@riskplus.info.
