Data had to be researched and collated, risks identified and assessed, measures developed, and the results documented within the specified timeframe. The effort involved was considerable.<\/p><p>But what benefits does this systematic examination of drinking water catchment areas bring, beyond simply meeting the legal requirements?<\/p><p>To explore this question, we asked our customers about their experiences. The results show: <strong>Risk management adds technical value and provides new insights into the protection of drinking water resources.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c2690cd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c2690cd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 id=\"StrukturiertesRisikomanagementschafftKlarheit\u00fcberbislangunbekannteRisiken-NeueRisikenwerdensichtbar\">New risks are coming to light<\/h2><p><strong>92 per cent of participants see added value in risk management<\/strong>. The ability to identify and prioritise areas requiring action, to derive appropriate measures and to highlight new risks was mentioned particularly frequently. Particularly for catchment areas that have so far been considered only to a limited extent in a systematic manner, risk management provides a structured basis for the further assessment and management of risks. The structured recording and assessment of hazards also facilitates communication with authorities and other stakeholders. Risks and areas requiring action can be presented in a transparent manner, and measures can be coordinated in a more targeted way.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c7d1acb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c7d1acb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 id=\"StrukturiertesRisikomanagementschafftKlarheit\u00fcberbislangunbekannteRisiken-Risikomanagementerschlie\u00dftneueDaten\">Risk management unlocks new data<\/h2><p>This becomes particularly clear when we look at the data:<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #328293;\">\u2022<\/span> <strong>55 per cent<\/strong> Some of the respondents identified risks that were previously unknown.<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #328293;\">\u2022<\/span> <strong>62 per cent<\/strong> have requested further information from the authorities.<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #328293;\">\u2022<\/span> Of these, the following received <strong>80 per cent<\/strong> Data that was previously unknown or inaccessible.<\/p><p>This shows that risk management does not merely document existing knowledge. A systematic analysis of the catchment areas also reveals where information is lacking.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3dee1df elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3dee1df\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 id=\"StrukturiertesRisikomanagementschafftKlarheit\u00fcberbislangunbekannteRisiken-VomAufwandzumkonkretenNutzen\">From effort to tangible benefits<\/h2><p>This makes it clear that the Drinking Water Directive can achieve more than simply meeting a legal requirement. The customer survey shows that it is not just the effort involved in implementation that is decisive. Equally important is what is gained through systematic analysis: new data, additional insights and a better basis for concrete measures to protect drinking water resources.<strong>.<\/strong><\/p><p>With RiskPlus, we support water suppliers and engineering firms in implementing the requirements of the Drinking Water Directive (TrinkwEGV) and the Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV) in a structured manner and in making the resulting information usable.
